Though this winter has had record temperatures, people are still experiencing winter-inspired depression, lack of motivation, and grumpy moods.
Research has proven how color therapy, or chromo therapy, is a natural way to conteract these moods because color enables the body to heal and balance itself. For example: Babies with jaundice and individuals with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) are treated with color therapy. To rid yourself of melancholy and bring color into your life, read the following tips by ChicagoHealers.com practitioner Karen Erickson.
*Wear colorful clothes and undergarments: Clothing that's bright will instantly put you in a cheerful mood and even make others around you feel merry as they visually absorb your brightness.
*Paint your home or office: Painting walls a certain color will instill a particular mood for that room. Vibrant colors such as yellow and orange fill a room with excitement and warmth, while dark colors create a boring, monotonous feeling. Pastel colors such as lavender and pinks infuse calm feelings.
*Accessorize: If changing the wall color is inconvenient, spice up a room with fun colored pillows, rugs, window treatments, art pieces, or plants.
